The Union Cabinet’s decision to develop 12 industrial smart cities across 10 states is expected to significantly boost real estate activity in these regions, with industry observers anticipating a rise in demand for both residential and commercial spaces. Such large-scale infrastructure initiatives often strengthen market confidence, especially when backed by experienced developers with a strong legacy of delivering diverse residential projects and maintaining consistent customer engagement.
Experts believe that property values in and around these emerging hubs could witness an increase of 15–20 percent over the next few years. This trend is likely to be supported by growing interest in well-planned communities, particularly in established real estate corridors like Gurgaon, where reputed developers continue to expand their portfolio of completed projects and introduce new developments aligned with evolving urban needs.
At the same time, some analysts urge caution, emphasizing that the real estate potential of these smart cities will largely depend on timely execution, transparent communication, and regular project updates from developers. Buyers today are more informed and tend to rely on credible news, official clarifications, and consistent construction progress before making investment decisions.
The Union Cabinet had approved the development of these 12 industrial smart cities on August 28, with an estimated investment of ?28,602 crore, marking a significant step toward strengthening infrastructure and creating new opportunities across India’s real estate landscape.
